EnginePrep

May 2, 2009

Today I received the Bus Manager unit from Protek Performance. This unit has been designed by Robert Paisley who was heavily involved in testing the Egg engines. This unit basically packages parts of the Egg electrical diagram in a neat small box.

Jan has shipped my engine for arrival sometimes next week! Exciting! Because of some delay in shipping the radiator shrouds, shipping took a bit longer, but since hanging it on my firewall is some time away, that wasn't a problem. I do need to clean up my workshop and find a place for it though :-) Here are some pics on Jan's website.
This engine literally has my name written on it!

March 6, 2009

Talked to Jan today and agreed on a shipping date of March 18 due to some upcoming travel. Can't hardly wait!

February 24, 2009

Today I made the final payment for my E6 engine package! I'm emailing with Jan and it seems my engine can be shipped on March 16.

January 18, 2009

Jan Eggenfellner send me an email to ask if I'm ready for delivery of the engine. We agreed on a final payment by the end of February and shipping of the engine package by Mid March. Sounds good to me!

November 30, 2008

Second check send to Jan for my E6.

August 27, 2008

Send the first payment for my 2009 E6 to Eggenfellner Aircraft today. If everything goes allright, my engine will be delivered in February or March 2009.

Met Jan Eggenfellner at Oshkosh this year. He came in with his huge RV (the road version) and I finally had a chance to see and touch his E6. It's a beautiful engine and I am more and more convinced that I want one of these in my RV-7A. He's also going to have a RV7 cowling in his pricelist soon. This cowling will have a movable cowl-flap which is going to be a big improvement for cooling the engine.

Today I've put down a deposit for an Eggenfellner E6 engine for Spring 2009 delivery. Jan Eggenfellner is offering these for $19,995 for a limited amount of time (instead of the regular $24,995). I was not planning to order the engine now, but this is something I just could not refuse :-) Of course it is a refundable deposit, so if I get doubts about this... (don't think so though). I'm going to Oshkosh for a couple of days this year and will go by Jan's booth to check out the engines in person :-) Maybe I can even hitch a ride with an E6 RV.

Have to determine what I want for an engine though. Seriously thinking about an Eggenfellner E6, but let's see what's happens...
Isn't this a work of art?
