EngineArrivalAmount of hours spent on the engine: 4 May 23, 2009 - 4h Put my harbor freight engine hoist together today with the goal of building a temporary engine stand.
First I wanted to get the engine upright and so I wrapped a sling around the crate bottom panel (the one the mount is bolted to) and started to hoist that end up until I got slip it up on top of the hoist to move it away from the wall a bit.
After that I built a simple stand from scrap wing stand materials (glad I kept that stuff!) and lifted the whole structure up to get it on its feet.
The whole things was then moved at its final local until it will be bolted on the firewall.
April 15, 2009 - 2h The engine has finally arrived! It was brought in by a truck with a liftgate because it would have been impossible to get this crate off the truck without it. Unfortunately I don't have any pics when the truck arrived, because I forgot my camera in the house and realized this too late... But following are a bunch of pics I made during the unwrapping process. Jan did an excellent job crating and packing the engine by the way.
